Yes, there is limited storage space available on the boats for collapsible buggies.

Yes, if it becomes necessary, the trip can be cancelled at any point up to 48 hours before the trip. If this becomes necessary then, in the first instance, the Trust will offer an alternative date/time for the trip. Failing that, a voucher will be provided which can be redeemed later in the season. Failure to give at least 48 hours’ notice will result in the Trust having the right to withhold all monies received by them.

Yes, babies and children can be included in the party. However, please be aware that the maximum number of passengers on the boat is 12, including babies under 12 months old. (Note: See the item in Terms and Conditions concerning children and the requirement for children to wear buoyancy aids when outside the cabin).

The Trust’s main season is from 1^st April until the end of October. Therefore, other than when the boats are being used perhaps for training purposes or undergoing maintenance work, trips are possible every day through this period (including the weekends).

Yes, guests are welcome to bring food and drink onto the boats for their own consumption (note: other than water, the Trust does not provide any food or drink for guests). There is a kettle and fridge together with cups, plates and cutlery on the boats and these are all available for the use of guests. Our Dandelion boat has a gas hob and oven, and our Halseyon Days boat has a microwave cooker.

Yes, we are happy to show you how to operate the locks but this activity will be strictly supervised as the locks are dangerous places. Children under the age of 18 must wear a life jacket when helping with the locks.

No, our boats are licensed to carry a maximum of 12. This number of 12 includes carers, children and babies under 12 months old. Please also note that wheelchair users who cannot transfer to a seat count as two passengers because of the space required.

This is a very difficult question to answer both because of the diversity of medical conditions and the fact that we are not medically qualified to make such a judgement. Please see the note in our Terms and Conditions concerning ‘Medical conditions’, follow the guidance of your medical advisors and otherwise use common sense giving thought to your fellow passengers and the Trust’s volunteers if you are unwell on the day of the trip.

Sorry but we are only able to cruise on the waterways during daylight hours and so night-time trips are not possible.

Halseyon Days is moored at Leicester Marina where there is free on-site and nearby parking available. However, you will need to use suitable road-side parking for trips on Dandelion; this will mean at least a 5-minute walk.

No, pets are not allowed on any of our trips. However, in accordance with our Access Policy, ‘Assistance Dogs’ can accompany their owners on the boats.

Yes, this is possible mainly on our 7-hour trips but not at weekends or on Bank Holidays, as this is when the venues are busiest and the boat mooring often very difficult. Pub meals can sometimes be possible on our shorter trips, but you would need to liaise with the Skipper about this. Please note if a pub meal is being taken: Please ensure that (i) the Trust has been notified at the time of booking, (ii) the pub is aware that you are arriving by boat and (iii) the time of the booking has been confirmed in writing by the pub. It is the client’s responsibility to arrange all details pertaining to the pub meal and NOT that of the Baldwin Trust.

No. Smoking and/or vaping is not allowed anywhere on the Trust’s boats at any time.

Yes, we love to be able to give people opportunity to steer the boat if circumstances are appropriate. This will always be under the supervision of the skipper and crew.

Yes, both the Trust’s boats are fitted with disability lifts and so the Trust will gladly receive guests who are unable to transfer onto the boat while in a wheelchair. However, please note that: (i) wheelchair passengers that cannot transfer count as two people given their space requirements (ii) must be disclosed at the point of booking and (iii) the group must have carers available for each wheelchair user to assist them in accessing and leaving the boat as our volunteers are neither insured nor trained for this activity. Please note however that a crew member will monitor passengers getting on and off the lift.

Yes, there is limited storage space available on Halseyon Days and Dandelion for wheelchair storage for those guests who are able to transfer.

Should this occur, we will provide you with as much advance notice as possible and the opportunity to rebook on another available date (see ‘Refunds’).

If you need to contact us about the booking on the day of the trip or the day prior to the trip, please contact the skipper (details of which you will receive in the Booking process). If you fail to turn up on the day of the trip then we cannot give a refund. We cannot give refunds purely because of a party’s failure to arrive.

Please arrive at the mooring no later than 15 minutes before your trip’s departure time. Late arrival could result in the length of the trip being suitably reduced. (Please see item 20 for non-arrival terms and conditions).

In the event of a medical emergency, the Trust will always prioritise the needs of the patient. Other guests will be cared for and kept informed of the general situation following the emergency, as best as we are able given this priority.

If the Trust cancels the trip, then, if no alternative date and time for the trip can be agreed, either a voucher for use against a future trip will be given or, failing that, a 100% refund will be given.

Both boats have a toilet and wash facilities, and these are easily adapted for use by those in wheelchairs and needing carers.

The Trust reserves the right to cancel the cruise, due to adverse weather conditions, high water, high winds, and other unforeseen circumstances. Should this occur, we will provide you with as much advance notice as possible and the opportunity to rebook on another available date (see ‘Refunds’).

Yes, and all children and young people under the age of 18 must always wear a buoyancy aid when they are outside the confines of the cabin (buoyancy aids will be supplied when the party is onboard the boat).

Yes, this can happen but only on very rare occasions. This will not affect your trip as both boats are very similar in terms of their facilities.

Yes, our boats are specially adapted for this purpose.

All passengers should wear appropriate sensible footwear as you may want to get off the boat and the pathways can be wet.

The Baldwin Trust reserves the right, where necessary, to deviate from the boat’s planned route. Please be aware that weather and river conditions will on occasion dictate delays or alterations to the planned route. Such issues may result in the trip being curtailed or running late. Your skipper will keep you informed.
