The Baldwin Trust work hard to ensure our crew and skippers are given full and thorough training to ensure we can support our passenger trips safely and competently. Pre-season training has been underway, for both new volunteers and current crew seeking a refresher before they get back on the water. The training covers boat safety, passenger safety and comfort, detailed information on the boat facilities and operation, as well as the all important lock management. For our new volunteers, once the full day of training has been completed, each volunteer will have to complete training trips before our experienced skippers can sign them o???? as fully trained. Our Skippers are trained and qualified with the National Community Boating Association, taking a challenging assessment to pass the qualification. They also complete first aid training, going through regular refresher training to ensure their knowledge is fully up to date.
When you chose a trip with the Baldwin Trust, you can be assured that our Skipper and crew are always trained to the highest standards for your comfort and safety.
